    My Hopscotch

This isn’t the best of my photographs from Hopscotch. It’s my favorite photographs. Very different.

Soundtrack is “Glass Bubbles” from Hometapes artist All Tiny Creatures. They performed at Hopscotch 2011 on the final night at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, NC.

More Hopscotch photos are here: Zenfolio and Facebook. Buy a print or license any of these photos for online use. I have another business, but I have a rule: photography pays for photography. I try and make enough to cover the cost of my habit!

    Day Three

    • Cat Martino at The Pour House at the Trekky Records day party (Yay Cat!)
    • The Bubble: The Limits of Pop Music - Moderator: Brian Howe. Panelists were Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips, Chris Stamey of The dB’s (and producer of like EVERYONE around here!), Mark Richardson of Pitchfork Media and author of Zaireeka, Julianna Barwick, Sam Herring of Future Islands, and David Tompkins (author of How to Wreck a Nice Beach: The Vocoder from World War II to Hip-Hop, The Machine Speaks).
    • All Tiny Creatures
    • Des Ark (although I feel like I had a concentration lapse around this time. It was an amazing show, but I was having trouble really being a good audience member by this point!)
    • Little Scream! Concentration definitely returned. Laurel is the lead singer and creator of this band, and she was lovely. She shared band food with me backstage, and we had a great talk. Then she went on stage and blew my mind. SOOOOO GOOOOOD! And then after I hung out with Laurel and Cat and just got happy happy happy. Definitely one of my favorite hours of the festival.
    • Kort. KORT!!! Do you know Kort? It’s Kurt Wagner of Lambchop and a woman who’s “Nashville Royalty,” and her name is Courtney, but that’s all I know about her. Kurt has the best stage presence ever ever. I got to meet him, too, and music is lucky to have him.
