I had not remembered the entire story of the glass shard. I recalled there was some element of my stupidity, but luckily, the original photo had the full story:
“Since I’m all gimpy with the cast, I decided to vacuum rather than to sweep the kitchen last week. While doing that, I knocked my glass straw holder off of the microwave, and it shattered all over the place. I had bare feet, but on that day, I managed to avoid getting maimed. Yesterday, however, I was not so lucky. I stepped on a glass shard in the kitchen with my bare feet. Because of the cast, I couldn’t get the stupid glass out, so last night and all day I’ve been walking around on the ball of my left foot. Vetters to the rescue! I called Shannon this morning to ask for her help. She and Brian came over, and they fixed me right up. They are awesome friends!” -

Oh man. I’d forgotten about this. How do you know who your real friends are? So let’s say your hand is in a cast, but then you accidentally break a glass container because you aren’t being careful, and it goes all over the place. Then the next day you realize you have a glass shard in your foot. You know you have awesome, true friends, when they show up within half an hour and dig around in your foot, performing “surgery” until the sucker is gone.
